Introduction on School of Chemical Engineering
School of Chemical Engineering whose former was called as Department of Chemical Engineering in 1993 was founded in 2004, and it has possessed four majors which were called as Applied Chemical Engineering Technology, Biochemical Technology, Organic Chemistry Production Eechnology, and Chemical Engineering Equipment and Machinery respectively. Also, more than one thousand registered students study and live here.
As an important specialty of School of Chemical Engineering, Applied Chemical Engineering Technology was identified as the provincial model speciality of higher vocational college and provincial brand characteristics professional by the education department of HeNan provence in 2005 and 2009 in order of precedence, as well as, its teaching team and training base were identified as provincial unit and provincial model training base in 2007 and 2011 in order of precedence also. Meanwhile, Major of Biochemical Technology which has been identified as provincial experimental specialty and Executive member of chemical engineering association of HeNan province in 2012 has made great progress in recent years, and its key course of “technology of biochemistry production”has beening the nonesuch course of HeNan provence since 2006.
Province–class professional skills appraisal station which admited by department of labor and social security of HeNan province located in College of Chemical Engineering, and it can afford more than ten sorts of technical training and professional qualification appraisal as functions as Chief control work, Chemical Analysis Work, Food Test Work etc., and can grant professinal qualification certificates admited by national department of labor and social security. So far, 100% pass rate of granted professinal qualification certificates to students has reached to .
A healthy teaching faculty with abundant teaching experiences, higer professional level, intensive devotion to duty and reasonable structure in professional titles and educational background is the soul of our college, in which 38 persons are full-time teachers, 5 of 38 are professors; 20 of 38 are vice professors, senior engineers,or senior experimenters; 4 of 38 persons have the PHD., 18 of 38 persons have the MD. ; and every teacher is the teacher with double qulities not only in theory but also in practice. More than twenty achievements in scientific research, 260 academic theses where 4 articles recruited by SCI, and 6 articles recruited by EI, 15 teaching materials, 6 Advanced Science and Technology Awards in the level of province or municipality, one Spark Invention Award, and three invention patents have been winned by our teachers since these years.
The conditions of experment and practical training are superior, and chemical productions training rooms, chemical engineering operation traning rooms with perfect functions in producing, teaching and training, testing center of chemical productions with advanced facilitied have been built in our college. The training rooms belonging to Applied Chemical Engineering Specialty, Bio-chemical engineering specialty, Organic Chemistry Production Eechnology, and Chemical Engineering Equipment and Machinery have all kinds of using function not only for students but also for teachers, and especially, the simulation training rooms with as many kinds of soft as Chemical Techniques of Acetic Acid Made from the Oxidation of Acetaldehyde, Methyl hydrate Producing Process, Fermentation Process in Penicillin Producing, Treatment Process of Municipal Sewage etc. can offer large amount of opportunities to students to train their practical opertaion techniques.
All in all, the mordern experiment and practical training rooms with more than five thousands YUAN’s facilities and four thousands square meter in built-up area will endow with powerful supporting and security to forstering talents.
During year after year’s course of teaching practice, we have set up stable practice bases in more than forty corporations inside and outside the province in a way of cooperation between college and corporations. As the practice bases, Haohua-Junhua Group co.,Ltd., Hubei Yihua Group Limited Liability Company, Foxconn Group, Henan Jinkai Investment Holding Group, Kaifeng Dongda Chemical Co., Ltd. of China Pingmei Energy Chemical Engineering Group and Kaifeng Xinghua Fine Chemical Plant devoted themselves for building the platform with School of Chemical Engineering, created favourable conditions for job opportunities to graduated students of our college, and keep more than 96% rate of employment whithin recent three years.
Students from College of Chemical Engineering always take part in National contest of Chemical professional techniques and Henan province Contest of Mathematical Modeling, and have achieved excellent accomplishment, winned several awards.
Finally, School of Chemical Engineering has turned out a large number of chemical higher-skilled talents for later twenty years. And now, with the fighting drums beated for the construction of Ecnomic District of Central Plains, our college will inherit the maxim of“ developing the traditional morality, encouraging hard learning, pushing practical action, emphasizing eternal creation” of our university, persist in the higher vocational education theory of “ runing the specialties by facing to the society, bringing up the talents by cooperating with corporations”, and produce as well transport correspondingly more and more chemical engineering talents to national ecnomic constructions by grasping the scarce developing chances provided by our social modern course.
