New Semester Theme Class Meeting Held in College of International Education

On Sept. 2, the first new semester theme class meetings were held in classes of 2010 and 2011 respectively. “New semester, new scenes” and “In sophomore year, how far away am I from achieving my goals” are the different themes. The students talked about what they saw and heard in this summer holiday, discussing about the different kinds of practical activities they took part in. Most of them said that compared with summer holidays in high schools, summer holidays in colleges could offer students more free space and wouldn’t bring them any homework burden. Most students participated in some meaningful practical activities and improved their abilities. Contemporary college students should set up specific goals. Not only should they have solid cultural knowledge, but also good abilities in practice. The students expressed their thoughts and ideas freely during the meetings, exchanging interesting news and things with each other. The atmosphere was very good. In addition, they said that they would set up their new semester’s goals and keep moving towards their long-term goals step by step.

The meetings not only enhanced the students’ feelings, but also enriched the students' spare life, motivating them keep learning hard and make greater progress in the new semester.
